One of the biggest struggles for endurance athletes is training and race day nutrition.
It’s a complicated problem and there is no easy simple solution because what works for one person may not work for another. I say it all the time ask 100 Ironman athletes about their nutrition and you’ll get 100 different answers. What follows here is not a recommendation but simply a resource of what I know about available products. If I have used them – I say so. If I have an affiliate discount or coupon I’ll share it.
Infinit Nutrition. Infinit comes as a powder and you mix it to the concentration you prefer. They have pre-made formulas and you can also have them mix a custom formula for you. I have used Infinit Nutrition on the bike in all of my Ironman triathlon races so far. I am an Infinit Nutrition Ambassador so you’ll find affiliate links throughout this site. Here is a link to an example of exactly how I use Infinit to train and race.
Accel Gel. From Pacific Health Labs. I tried this in November 2016 and you can read about my thoughts. It is a good solid gel. This is the only gel that I know of that emphasizes protein in the gel. I am happy to have tried it and I think this is a good option for race day nutrition.
33Shake – Based on Chia seeds this is a newcomer to the nutrition scene at least in the US. I have tried them and reviewed them here. I was given a discount code when I interviewed the founders. It’s Amy33 so try that and see if it works for a 10% discount.
Beachbody Perfomance. Here is a link to my review of the samples I got at Ironman Boulder.
More to come … suggestions welcome.
